Piazza Castille
About
In the lighting project of Piazza Castille, in Valletta, I took into account the composition of the square and its relationship with the historic buildings that surround it.
In addition to enhancing the tradition and beauty of the existing architecture, the main objective was to give the place the character of a true urban theatre, where the square becomes the stage and the historic buildings take on the role of protagonists.
Thanks to the use of state-of-the-art lighting fixtures, I was able to develop a lighting design project capable of not altering the chromatic perception of the buildings, maintaining the same tones visible with natural light even at dusk and during nighttime.
The advanced technological features of these fixtures ensure reliable performance over time; the use of stainless steel also makes them suitable to withstand the salty air and the typical weather conditions of the island.
The light has been designed not only to enhance the enjoyment of the square even in the evening hours but also to ensure safety and respect for the environment, thanks to energy-saving sources and a control system capable of intelligently regulating the lighting.
